Conducts experimental research lab work. Assists in design of one or more specific phase(s) of entire project(s). Completes mathematical calculations, &/or computer tasks &/or assists in judging validity of data. Follows appropriate protocols, policies, procedures, regulations, good clinical & laboratory practices.
Seeking a highly motivated, experienced research technician to fill a full-time position in Dr. Loretta Li’s laboratory at Lurie Children’s Hospital / Northwestern University. We are a newly established translational leukemia research laboratory that uses a variety of biochemical, molecular, and cell biology approaches to identify new therapeutic targets, develop preclinical models of disease, and test novel therapeutics both in vitro and in vivo using mouse models. We seek to define mechanisms of response and resistance to different novel therapeutic agents, with the goal of eventually translating these findings to clinical trials for patients. The successful candidate will be a team player capable of handling multiple tasks and adaptable to a fast-paced research environment.
The Research Technologist II will perform lab work in the Host-Microbial Interactions, Inflammation, and Immunity Neighborhood. The lab investigates the airway microbiome and infection in cystic fibrosis with an emphasis on the impact of disrupted intracellular signaling and pH.

Assists the Director and Staff of the Office of Research Integrity and Compliance (ORIC) in promoting the ethical conduct of clinical research and ensuring that it is conducted in a manner compliant with all federal, state and local regulations, as well as institutional policies.
This post-doctoral research position is assigned to the Division of Neurology and Epilepsy at Lurie Children’s Hospital and Northwestern University Medical. Dr. Joyce Wu’s laboratory focuses on outcomes in pediatric epilepsy and epilepsy surgery, including biomarkers on electroencephalography (EEG) and electrocorticography. Because the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying seizure generation and epileptogenesis remain unknown, biomarkers in epilepsy help clinicians and researchers alike to better understand where in the brain seizures may originate, the spatial extent of the epileptogenic zone, and the mechanisms responsible for seizure generation. The long-term goal of this work is to: 1) improve epilepsy surgery outcomes, 2) better understand mechanisms of seizure generation from resected tissues in collaboration with bench scientists, as well as 3) predict on non-invasive EEG and video-EEG patient response to anti-seizure medications.
