The Division of Pediatric Dentistry provides comprehensive and preventive oral health care for infants, children, teens and patients with special needs. We treat more than 5,000 pediatric patients and complete approximately 1,000 dental surgery procedures each year. For more than 40 years, our division has focused on the care of patients who have medical conditions that prevent them from receiving care in the conventional private-practice dental setting.
The Dental Assistant assists the dentist(s) at chairside during examination and treatment of hospital patients. This position will also assist Orthodontists with the cleft lip and palate/craniofacial team. Understands and integrates into the delivery of patient care the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients in regards to their growth and development process. The position actively supports the hospitals and the departments Continuous Quality Improvement and customer service goals, individually and as an effective team member.
This part-time (40 hours biweekly) position is based at Lurie Children's Outpatient Center in Lincoln Park. Hours are Monday - Friday 8 to 10 hour shifts (possibility of weekends in the future).

This full-time (80 hours biweekly) position is based at Lurie Children's Outpatient Center in Lincoln Park and will travel occasionally to support Lurie Children's Outpatient Centers in Northbrook and Westchester. Hours are Monday - Friday 8 to 10 hour shifts (possibility of weekends in the future).
Under the direction of the Medical Director and the appropriate Administrative Director, the Coordinator has the authority and accountability for facilitating the delivery of quality service in the laboratory. The Coordinator is responsible for the technical and scientific oversight of the laboratory, oversees daily operations and may perform staff responsibilities. Serves as a technical expert and resource person and provides a timely communication link between staff and leadership.
Performs duties associated with the inventory, sorting, stocking, packaging, reprocessing, sterilizing, assembling, and distribution of medical and surgical supplies for use in patient care areas. Rotating weekends.
This is a full-time (80 hours biweekly) night shift position however orientation is for around the first 8-12 weeks on day shift.
The Medical Social Worker provides direct and indirect services to patients and families. The core functions of social work include: assisting patients and families through their adjustment to illness or hospitalization; assisting patients and families with understanding and adhering to treatment plans; linking patients and families to community agencies and services.

Primarily performs general sonographic procedures. Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement. Maintains current knowledge of sonographic technology and equipment as applicable. Demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills. Acts as a knowledge resource for students, technologists, and others.
*Shift Details: Midnight shift 11:00p – 7:30a Monday thru Friday. Week begins Sunday at 11p and ends Friday at 7:30a. Holidays and call responsibilities.
The Nutrition Technician assigned to the Formula Lab prepares and delivers formulas, nutrition supplements, and tube feedings for inpatients of all ages. The nutrition technician also places formula requisitions, stocks, and maintains appropriate storage of formulas and donor breast milk. The technician will maintain good communication with management, purchasing, pharmacy, registered dietitians, nursing and other clinical staff.
Performs a variety of procedures and services including the collection and distribution of patient specimens. Works with both the laboratory and hospital information systems. May assist in the processing of laboratory specimens. Functions as a member of the Phlebotomy team and actively supports the Hospita's Continuous Quality and Customer Service goals through modeling appropriate behavior and providing a work environment conducive to attaining these goals.
All new graduates are placed into our 18 month new graduate residency program. The residency is a paid program and all residents are employed by Lurie Children’s. The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides respiratory care services for the safe and effective care of neonatal, pediatric and adult patient populations. Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to order, protocol or clinical pathway. Determines effectiveness of therapy. Operates and maintains all equipment needed for the respiratory management of critically ill patients. Acts as the primary resource to parents, patients, and all Hospital personnel regarding pulmonary illness, therapies and equipment. Understands and integrates into the delivery of patient care the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients in regard to their growth and development process. Actively supports the Hospital and department's quality goals and service excellence principles.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for daily clinical work in the outpatient/primary care setting. Assists Physicians and other staff under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

The state-of-the-art Surgery Center, located next to the Lurie Children's Outpatient Center in Northbrook, offers four operating rooms to support minimally-invasive surgical procedures in addition to 14 private pre- and post-operative rooms and a 3Tesla MRI scanner.

We have full-time (72 hours biweekly) openings available! The Surgical Technologist provides assistance to the surgical team during surgical procedure. Assists in the orientation process of all new operating room employees as assigned.

Works with specialized patient populations and clinical care teams providing detailed nutrition counseling, nutrition care plans and recommendations for diet, tube feedings, parenteral nutrition, vitamins, nutrition-related medications, and more that impact nutritional status, growth and quality of life*. Provides quality specialized nutrition care and education to patients and their families in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Acts as a resource for staff members and provides guidance regarding nutrition care. Designs and develops educational materials for patients and their families. Precepts dietetic interns and develops learning modules. The Psych Social Worker is a vital member of the patient care team who provides emergency psychiatric evaluations and disposition planning to patients presenting to the emergency department and provides essential social work support and protective service evaluations and resources to the emergency department and entire hospital.
Schedule is Thursdays weekly from 3p-11:30p with possibility of extra shifts on weekends as needed.
This full-time Medical Assistant (80 hours biweekly) will support the Ophthalmology Clinic at Lurie Children’s Outpatient Center in Lake Forest and Lurie Children’s Outpatient Center in Northbrook. The Medical Assistant will assist ophthalmic technicians with patient work-ups and clinic flow. Participates in patient care by performing specialized testing including visual field tests and ophthalmic photography. Instructs patients and parents in proper eye drop instillation and handling of contact lenses. Supports opticians with contact lens ordering and distribution.
Lurie Children’s Division of Ophthalmology provides world-class treatment and care for a full range of pediatric eye disorders, eye trauma and vision problems. The division consists of ten board-certified ophthalmologists with fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, and two optometrists with interests in pediatric care and low vision. We also have two optical shops for children, optical centers that provide specialty frames for kids that are both durable and fashionable.
This part-time (40 hours biweekly) Medical Assistant will mainly support Dematology at our Uptown location. Responsible for daily clinical work in the outpatient/primary care setting. Assists Physicians and other staff under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
The hours will be approximately 8:30a-5p Tuesday, Thursday, and every other Friday.
