Under the direction of the Associate Director of Information Services, the Data Management Specialist will assist with the enhancement of data integrity to maintain the quality and accuracy of research data in the Center for Food Allergy and Asthma Research (CFAAR). The Data Management Specialist will also execute database imports, queries, exports, reports, and mailing lists. This position will assist in developing and implementing policies to guide data entry, and making sure that the database effectively captures donor information to generate accurate reports. The position works extensively with large and complex databases, including data from longitudinal and cross-sectional study designs as well as randomized controlled trials, using statistical software packages such as Stata or SAS. The Data Management Specialist creates reports of data and communicates results to Principal Investigators.
This position offers a great opportunity to participate in very exciting research on neural development and neurodegeneration, which will lead to publications in the near future. Responsibilities include assisting investigators with experiments, performing research independently and participating day-to-day laboratory management, including managing mouse colonies, ordering lab supplies, and writing animal protocols. Previous lab experience in molecular biology (DNA, RNA, PCR and Western) required. Mouse work experience is strongly preferred.
