  • Overview

    Provides leadership for the administration, finances, human resources and growth strategy of sponsored programs at Almost Home Kids (AHK) including but not limited to providing oversight of program operations and finances, leading staff who will manage/coordinate each program, and developing strategies to grow the programs. Sponsored Programs to include Medical Education Program (MEP), Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Fellowship Program, Sleep Medicine, and others as developed and assigned. Provides leadership to staff on further developing and improving the sponsored programs, identifying other resources or contacts within Lurie Children’s Hospital or outside entities to help grow the program, and troubleshoots issues that may impede the growth and development of programs. Produces research studies on programs’ progress, effectiveness and outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provides leadership and overall guidance to existing and newly developed sponsored programs.
    2. Oversees the operations, finances and budgets of the sponsored programs. Supervises the development of budgets, fiscal reporting and tracking mechanisms to ensure grant compliance and other program requirements. Works with AHK’s Senior Director of Business Operations as part of the oversight job function.
    3. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholders for each program, e.g. AHK Medical Director and Clinical Manager, nursing leaders within AHK and Lurie Children’s Hospital and other leaders critical to the success of the sponsored programs.
    4. Takes initiative to improve both processes and outcomes, incorporating best practices, and innovations in professional field.
    5.  Develops and performs research studies to track the programs’ progress, effectiveness, and outcomes. Establishes the metrics to be used in the analyses. Collects data, prepares and presents research reports on an annual basis to the proper stakeholders within AHK. Develops processes necessary to support the research studies for all programs.
    6. Works closely with AHK’s Director of Development to provide information, outcomes data and other relevant data necessary to secure future grant funding to sustain and grow the sponsored programs.
    7. Facilitates and achievement of professional & personal goals for self and staff.
    8. Effectively recruits, interviews, and hires additional staff necessary for expanding existing programs or staffing newly developed sponsored programs.
    9. Develops and implements strategies to integrate and grow sponsored programs within AHK and Lurie Children’s Hospital, including Sleep Medicine.
    10. Works with AHK’s Director of Business Development to bring sponsored programs, including Sleep Medicine, to AHK affiliates at major children’s hospitals around the country.

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    1. Master’s degree with a concentration in nursing administration, health care administration, business or other health care profession required.
    2. Nursing license in Illinois preferred.
    3. Minimum of 10 years experience.
    4. Experienced in developing and conducting research studies with expertise in data analysis.
    5. Experienced in working in partnership with healthcare professionals in leadership roles.
    6. Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Ability to analyze and make interpretations.
