  • Overview

    This position will be responsible for providing support to physicians and other health care providers in the delivery of quality health care. The position works to provide optimal service to patients, respecting and demonstrating patient confidentiality and work within the established parameters of the job at all times.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provide patient care for well and sick appointments.
    2. Take patient vitals to include plotting on graphs, documenting correctly in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or paper chart.
    3. Vaccine administration with appropriate EMR documentation.
    4. Provide Nebulizer treatments
    5. Administer medication as allowed with Certification.
    6. Maintain all logs in lab and required equipment checks to include refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications sterilization fluid change, quality controls, etc.
    7. Run lab tests if needed to ensure smooth daily workflow.
    8. Complete school/camp health forms and other necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
    9. Room patients and clean rooms after each visit
    10. Take telephone messages and task to EMR system.
    11. Collaborate with the physician on the patient’s plan of care.
    12. Proficiency in computer skills, including Greenway electronic medical records and scheduling system, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel programs.
    13. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    1. High school diploma required.
    2. Medical Assistant Certification recommended
    3. Previous experience and knowledge of childhood vaccines preferred.
    4. Previous pediatric MA experience strongly preferred.
    5. Exceptional customer service and telephone etiquette skills.
    6. Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians and other staff members in a collegial manner.
