  • Overview

    The Epidemiologist will participate in multiple evaluation studies. This position is responsible for developing and managing databases, conducting analysis and assist in analysis plan development. We are looking for someone with evaluation experience who is flexible and interested in joining a collaborative team.  

    Responsibilities

    1. Work with the faculty in providing statistical and epidemiological analysis support to internally and externally funded research projects.
    2. Conduct database design and management, statistical analysis of data, and assist in implementation of studies and grants proposals.
    3. Consult with faculty to discuss research projects and hypotheses.
    4. Contribute towards optimal study design and identify appropriate statistical and/or mathematical methodologies for data analysis.
    5. Design data entry systems and conduct data management for research projects.
    6. Administer study elements, including consent procedures and fielding surveys.
    7. Assist in focus group administration.
    8. Consults with investigators on the interpretations and explanations of statistical and epidemiological techniques used, including appropriate graphics and tables.
    9. Foster continued relationships; produce high quality technical results and reports in a timely manner.
    10. Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social science with 7 + years experience/expertise in statistical design and analysis techniques is required. Relevant work experience or course work in clinical research, preferably in an academic medical setting.
    2. Master’s degree in statistics/biostatistics with 2-3 years of experience and knowledge of statistical software such as SAS, SPPSS is strongly preferred.
    3. Excellent written and oral skills are required; collaborative research experience is a plus. Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office applications.
    4. Effective communication skills. Excellent data analysis and statistical computing skills and knowledge of SAS, including data management, analysis, and presentation.
    5. The ability to work independently while being an essential part of a team.
