  • Overview

    Database Manager oversees activities related to the aggregation, analysis, and dissemination of clinical data for the Chicago Institute for Fetal Health (CIFH). The position is under the general supervision of the Executive Director.


    1. Manage and support perinatal database design, implementation, and enhancements in collaboration with Information Management, Data Analytics and Reporting, and/or industry partners
    2. Develop methodology and workflow for longitudinal data aggregation from various institutions via electronic medical records, data forms, and other software solutions
    3. Collaborate with various stakeholders across CIFH and partner institutions to develop effective working relationships and achieve shared informatics goals
    4. Derive analytical insights to enhance care quality, protocols, outcomes, research, and market position. Conduct research, literature scans, needs assessments, and other evaluations and provide empirical support to CIFH’s strategies
    5. Ensure data fidelity, unification, and compliance with relevant regulatory agencies
    6. Manage other data-driven projects as needed
    7. Attend and participate in meetings with various organizations and agencies
    8. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.


    1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required; Master’s degree preferred
    2. Minimum of five years of experience in database management, health information technology, and informatics. Experience with EPIC, REDCap, and business intelligence tools preferred
    3. Experience with project management is required – managing task forces and critical paths, anticipate technical and political considerations
    4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    5. Strong leadership and team building skills
    6. Self-driven and detail-oriented


    Working Conditions:
