  • Overview

    General Summary of Position Responsibility:

    Under the general supervision of the clinical director (M.D., D.O. or PH.D) or designee provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care, and education.



    Essential Job Functions:

    • Reviews history, physical information, medication, procedure request, and study protocol.
    • Completes and verifies documentation.
    • Explains procedure(s) and orients the patient to the sleep center
    • Applies electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
    • Performs appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and makes adjustments if necessary.
    • Performs routine positive airway pressure(PAP) mask fitting
    • Scores clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals etc.) according to protocols
    • Maintains all equipment in good working order, including oversight of all repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance.
    • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.




    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • High school diploma or GED required. Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in Polysomnography. Or, successful completion of a Polysomnography program, of no less than one year duration, associated with a State licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility.
    • RPSGT and Associate’s degree preferred.
      • Basic computer and typing skills required. Familiarity with MS excel and word (preferred)
      • Current CPR or BCLS certification required
      • Demonstrated effective written and spoken communications skills.
    • Ability to comply with the BRPT Standards of Conduct.
